Slendy Guide! Sept 10th, Todays Topic: Cutting corners and saving money.
Its no big secret that a lot of people are having money issues at higher levels. Especially for someone like me (Working on the Incinerator), you need to save as much money as you can! So here are some tips and tricks I've been using to earn as much cash as possible.
Do the math on the items you get out of your bags. I usually take a sample size of 100 to determine on average what I'll get out of the bag. It's not 100% accurate but it gives me a good estimate. For example, Large Ritual bags sell for roughly 60-80 copper while the highest value item that comes out of it is the potent blood. This sells for about 2 silver, however at the rate it comes out of the bag, it wasn't worth it to open the bags and sell the drops. On the other hand, Valuable Metal scraps often give Mithril that is close to value in what the scrap will sell for, and occasionally give you Orichalcum which is a huge return.
Every rare you get, check the market to see if its being sold. Chances are, you can get often 10-20x Merchant price for your rares, so don't sell yourself short! Yes, you can get ecto's from salvaging rares, but it's not a 100% process, and if you sell your rares for 20 silver, you've basically made that ecto.
One of the biggest mistakes you can make as a player interested in saving their cash, is selling to the highest buy-order and buying the lowest priced item. BUT SLENDERMAN!! THAT'S THE MOST EFFICIENT WAY! Wrong sirs and madams! The most efficient way is to put up buy-orders to buy, and small undercuts to sell. I usually dont penny pinch over 5 copper or so, but anything more and it adds up.
It might be a little too late for this, but basically for the first week, I didn't open ANY dyes I got. I had about 120 when the price just started to drop, and sold off half of them for a huge amount. Rather then rely on luck, if I really wanted a dye color, I could just sell the Unid's and then buy the rare dye. It's a much better to be safe than to gamble, especially with your money.
This is basically just free money/karma/exp. Tag an event for bronze/silver or do a little bit for gold.
Since TP is based on distance/player level, you can often save a lot of money by quickly heading to PvP through your character tab, and then going through the LA portal.
There are some more tips that I might share in the future, but this should really help you guys out!

- Trade Market your loot bags.

- Sell your Unid Dyes.
It might be a little too late for this, but basically for the first week, I didn't open ANY dyes I got. - Tag any events you move across, you don't have to stay
This is basically just free money/karma/exp. Tag an event for bronze/silver or do a little bit for gold.
- Use the PvP option to teleport back to LA to save teleport costs.
