Over the past few days I have crafted 1400 lvl 80 rare greatswords (carrion krait slayers and valkyrie krait slayers) in the attempt to get a legendary precursor.

From the 1400 greatswords put into the forge I received ZERO precursors and 71 exotics.

For a batch-by-batch breakdown of exotics returned out of # of rares used to make those exotics:

So you get about 5 exotics for every 100 rares thrown into the forge.

This has been a net loss of about 130 gold after selling all my exotics. I still have enough capital to throw some more swords into the forge; I'll add those results to these when they're done later but I'll probably quit/take a very long break if I don't manage to get a precursor in that time.
