I would like your opinion of events (like Tequatl) on timers. Do you prefer the way it is now or could you come up with some ideas which could elevate theses battles to a more engaging fight?
The events show massive player-activity because they happen on a clear schedule.
tons of players trivialize the bosses/events
players wait for 30+ minutes for the "big bosses" in order to get a shot on a successful coordinated run
living world feels too predictable and people jump from one boss to another just auto-attack farming "bad loot" (which would maybe be better if the challenge was greater)
some thoughts that might play into changing that scenario:
what if players could work for participation in a bar which summons the boss once it's full? Only if you've done enough (e.g. fight undead in several different events on sparkfly fen in order to enrage the dragon in the waters. Your weapon charges with each successful event, while each successful event fills the zone bar to summon Tequatl. Only a fully charged weapon can hurt Tequatl. The more the weapon is charged, the better the rewards.)
a progress bar which summons Tequatl - to be filled with Karma. Donate your karma to fill the bar.
follow up idea: the more karma you donate, the better the reward-chance (this system needs restrictions)
Progress bar to summon Tequatl. Filled with successful events in the zone. The more unique events you do, the better the zone-magicfind grows. Each unique event = +1% MF. The last 5 give a bit of a bonus MF. Your zone-magicfind gets reset after the final battle. (--> this would be a good way to farm stuff like crafting-mats)
follow up idea: after a number of events the reward-tier rises. You get higher tiers of crafting mats for example... like t6 blood in a t5 zone.
do you have any ideas? Or do you enjoy the way it is - maybe with some little improvements?
Just open any wiki page, deploy the search sites list (it's between the url bar and the search bar), click "Add Guild Wars 2 wiki (en)".
Works with other languages too.
fun fact : I discovered that while in the process of trying to create my own FF search module for this purpose ...
edit : you can easily ...
A guildmate just got a blue version of this amulet from this event: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Destroy_the_Eye_of_Zhaitan at Zho'qafa Catacombs, Straits of Devastation.
It could potentially mean it drops the exotic version, too, necessary for the Treasure Hunter collection achievement.
By the way, the blue version doesn't qualify for the achievement. It's selling for 30g and it's an obvious market manipulation taking advantage of misinformed players. Stay away from it.
The only known drop location for this amulet so far (And assumed to be the only one) was The Ruined City of Arah dungeon. Time to check if this event really drops it too!
Hello. I have noticed this topic few days ago, so I decided to do some tests and try to run super widescreen on my PC, but in much higher resolution - graphics settings. Here is gallery of my screenshots:
How did I achieved this resolution on a 15.6 laptop screen?
I'm using Steam in-home streaming to stream games from my headless PC to a laptop. Because this PC runs without a monitor, I'm able to add any resolution in Nvidia panel. The video is recorded and scaled down to my laptop's resolution (which is 1920x1080), so I can see it all on my screen with black stripes. However when I take screenshot using in-game's hotkey, it's saved in its original resolution.
I hope you like it.
Edit: If you know some nice places, post them in comments. I'll try to do some nice screenshots from there.
.. CoherentUI_Host (gamefolder/bin/...) to your firewall exception list (rule) or else you will have similar issues like i had for a bout a week.
Only add it, if youre having network issues (windows firewall control). As you can see, on the left side ive added the .exe to the firewall list on the right side i have not (network access denied).
This occured only after updating WFC from 4.1.2 to 4.1.5. Going to contact both (anet and WFC dev) and submit them my "case".
I am enjoying myself quite a lot to be honest, but I can't afford to buy the game right now so when the deadline hits I'll be losing the ability to play.
So far I've done a bunch of Heart Quests in my starting zone and got to level 12, I then went back and did the first little bit of my whole personal story thing. Since then I've just been running around the Slyvari Home City in The Grove exploring it and seeing all the areas and the panoramic view places. Seriously The Grove is amazing, I freaking love that place, it's absolutely mesmerising and beautiful.
Anyway, the Personal Story quest was pretty cool I guess, and the world is very pretty, but those heart quests were incredibly dull, mostly full of just grind and busywork. What questing can I experience as a level 12 that is more varied and interesting then "kill some X and click on the Y until we say stop" formula I've mostly gotten so far?
Is there anywhere I should check out that rivals The Grove in terms of beauty?
In general if I've got a day as a level 12 to see some of what this game can offer, then what is available to me?
